L’Oréal Paris x Balmain review

Hey guys,

In this blog I am gonna talk about the L’Oréal Paris x Balmain lipstick collaboration which is the most edgiest drug store collection of all time .The collection debuted during the Paris fashion week in September 2017 and was launched in India in January 2018. I was pretty excited to try out this collection . Balmain is the edgiest French fashion house, While its outfits may not be easily accessible but these lipsticks are. And Speaking about the L’Oréal its one of my favourite drugstore brand. Their infallible and true match collections are my  favourite.

Every colour is linked to the model wearing it in the campaign. All the models have different skin tones, It’s nice to see a drugstore brand be inclusive of all skin tones, from lightest to deepest. Besides, it’s also handy that you can see which colour would match your own skin tone perfectly. Also as we see Balmain’s own Creative Director, Olivier Rousteing, featured in the campaign which shows his efforts to make this collection.

The French label’s creative director , Oliver Rousting said in a statement to WWD, “L’Oréal paris and Balmain share same strong vision of femininity and the same goal to, empower women and offer them diverse ways to express themselves”.

The collection is available in 12 shades from nudes to blues and purple,  each priced at ₹1050 each.

·      I bought L'Oreal Paris x Balmain Makeup Box which included  3 Lipsticks –
·         L'Oreal Paris Balmain Limited Edition Color Riche Matte Lipstick -356 Confidence.
·         L'Oreal Paris Balmain Limited Edition Color Riche Matte Lipstick - 468 Liberation.
·         L'Oreal Paris Balmain Limited Edition Color Riche Matte Lipstick - 650 Power.

It was originally priced at ₹ 3050 but after discount it was available at ₹1999.

Packaging

These Lipsticks are designed to embody three themes each of the theme consists of 4 colours.

1. The Glamazon Tribe (green packaging): This theme  celebrates  fierceness
2. The Couture Tribe (black packaging): Balmain wouldn’t be Balmain without including a glamorous tribe into their collection. This Tribe is said to be a celebration to Balmain’s historic Parisian couture origins.
3. The Rock Tribe (blue packaging): This theme celebrates breaking the rules.

It seems Balmain was going for a luxe look to the packaging, no doubt it seems to be very luxe but it is very light in weight and is made up of plastic.  The packaging has a swirly marble design to it with gold detailing, on the cap of the lipstick you get the Balmain logo in beautiful gold letters and  in the middle of the lipstick, you get the L’Oréal Logo.

Swatches

356 Confidence- This is a sheer rosy colour with golden sparks. It can be worn alone or on the top of any other lipstick.

468 Liberation  - It a perfect deep violet colour (My favourite).

650 power- Dark chocolaty colour.

Treat your skin with handmade love

Products made by hand are of the best quality and are made by whole lot of love. They are also perfect as a gift to treat yourself or the people you love. Studies show that work done by hands consume less energy than the mass production assembly line, which makes it more environmentally sustainable.
I came through a New Delhi based Organic brand, called Lavish Bath Essentials. This brand is owned by a lady named Kitu Pahooja, who started making soaps for her son and experimented with different shapes, colours and oils. Doing so she received a lot of appreciation from her family and friends’, so with time she has increased her business and now her products are supplied to renowned Salons, Exporters and Handicraft shops.

I received three products from Lavish Bath Essentials, I really loved their quality and the prices at which they are being provided and so I wanted to share my thoughts over their products.

  Lip scrub

Lip scrubs shouldn’t be overlooked. Our lips are not only a visual focal point of our faces, but they’re also particularly sensitive. Exfoliation is an important part of lip care, simply because your lips don’t have sebaceous glands to keep them moisturized. The sebum secreted by sebaceous glands all over your skin is what keeps them hydrated and nourished; your lips on the other hand, have no means to keep them moisturized. Plus, since your lips are covered by a very thin layer of skin, it loses moisture fast and generates a layer of dead skin. These dead skin cells will not allow the moisture you provide it to reach into your skin and hydrate it. Soon you will find yourself dealing with excessively dry, chapped, cracked and painful lips which is not a pretty picture. So if you want soft, nourished and beautiful lips , What’s the better option to use a handmade lip scrub which contains such amazing ingredients like:

   1) Shea butter
·     It also contains vitamin A and E, which maintains the lip’s optimal health
·      It is rich in fats that make it an excellent emollient and skin moisturizing agent
·      It is anti-inflammatory
·         2) Sugar
·       The scrub contains actual sugar crystals that will slough off dead skin but are still      soft enough to avoid irritation
·       It also contains natural humectants , meaning it prevents moisture loss, so your         lips won’t feel dry post-use
·           3) Coconut oil
  ·         It's naturally antibacterial and antifungal
  ·         It is an excellent moisturizer

            Lip balm

After Lip scrubbing applying a good layer of moisture is an essential part of lip care. So now let us talk about Lavish bath essential's  lip balm. Most of the people use lip balm as a means to keep their lips moisturized during dry or cold weather. Others use it on a daily basis, particularly if they have dry skin or tend to lick their lips regularly. Applying lip balm daily is an important step for overall lip health because the skin on the lips is like none other on your body, It has no sebaceous glands, which means that it cannot make its own oils to keep it moisturized. It also has no melanin, which gives it no natural protection from the sun. The main ingredients used in the making of this lip balm considers all above points in order to maintain overall lip health.

       1) Shea butter
·         It also contains vitamin A and E, which maintains the lip’s optimal health
·         It is rich in fats that make it an excellent emollient and skin moisturizing agent
·         It is anti-inflammatory

·            2) Cocoa butter
·         Cocoa butter is an emollient which means it adds a protective layer of hydration to      your lips
·         It is useful for blocking the effects of very cold temperatures, sun damage or indoor     heat

      3)  Coconut oil ,Jojoba oil, Vitamin E oil
·
                 ·         It's naturally antibacterial

                 ·         It is an excellent moisturizer
·
    4) Bees Wax

·         Antibacterial

·         Anti- inflammatory and Pain reliever

·         Protecting the Skin

·         Skin healer

·         Soothes itching

·         To reduce stretch marks

Do try out their products, they are amazing tbh.
